Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance? I can provide a superbill (receipt) for clients to submit to their insurance for possible reimbursement. Clients are responsible for confirming coverage and notifying me of any insurer requirements.

What is your therapeutic approach? My therapeutic approach is insight-oriented, with the primary goal of helping clients develop a clearer understanding of both their personal and relational patterns. I integrate several evidence-based frameworks: Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Attachment Theory, and a Person-Centered framework.

During therapy sessions, clients are prompted to connect with and express thoughts, fears, desires, and feelings that may have previously gone unspoken. This process supports a greater awareness of the meaning behind their behaviors and patterns, ultimately empowering clients to make meaningful changes in individual and interpersonal dynamics.

How often would we meet? Generally speaking, we will meet weekly or every two weeks, especially in the beginning. This allows us to get to know each other and build momentum in our work. The specifics of each client/couple will determine how long we maintain this rhythm, but this is usually the frequency for at least 3 months. As progress is maintained or accelerated, the frequency of sessions may decrease. This is something that we would discuss and decide together.

Do you offer virtual or in-person sessions? Both. Currently, in-person sessions are scheduled on Thursdays.

What is your cancellation policy? Cancellations made within 24 hours of a scheduled appointment or missed sessions are charged at the session rate. Example: A session scheduled for 11am on Tuesday must be cancelled before 11am on Monday to avoid being charged. If the session is cancelled at 11:05am on Monday, the client/couple will be charged for the session.

Do you offer a sliding scale or reduced fee? Sometimes I do have a few openings for reduced-fee sessions. My suggestion is to look at your budget to see what you can reasonably afford to pay for at least 12 sessions. Once you have that number, we can talk about our options. If I am not able to accommodate you, I know of a few resources that provide reduced-fee or free therapy that I can recommend that might have openings.
